چکیده
Molecular catalysts for H 2 -evolution are of interest their integration into light-harvesting complexes photocatalytic water splitting. Here, we report the meso-tetra (4-carboxyphenyl) porphine [(TCPP)Pt II ] complex as a molecular -evolving photocatalyst using chloranilic acid (CA) sacrificial electron donor, choice which is critical to stability photocatalyst. When triethanolamine was used, decomposed form Pt nanoparticles. Density functional theory calculations together with evidence from electrochemical and spectroscopic analyses suggested that catalysis possibly initiated by proton-coupled transfer (PCET) I ]-N-H, followed another injection protonation -hydride]-N-H intermediate can release . As whole catalytic cycle involves multiple electrons, network should be helpful providing photo-induced electrons. Thus, integrated this catalyst metal-organic framework boost its activity ~830 times. This work presents mechanistic study evolution energy highlights importance injections. Integrating boosts The

A metal-organic cage incorporating multiple light harvesting and catalytic centres for photochemical hydrogen production
Photocatalytic water splitting is a natural but challenging chemical way of harnessing renewable solar power to generate clean hydrogen energy. Here we report a potential hydrogen-evolving photochemical molecular device based on a self-assembled ruthenium-palladium heterometallic coordination cage, incorporating multiple photo- and catalytic metal centres. The photophysical properties are inves...
متن کاملLight-harvesting and ultrafast energy migration in porphyrin-based metal-organic frameworks.
Given that energy (exciton) migration in natural photosynthesis primarily occurs in highly ordered porphyrin-like pigments (chlorophylls), equally highly ordered porphyrin-based metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) might be expected to exhibit similar behavior, thereby facilitating antenna-like light-harvesting and positioning such materials for use in solar energy conversion schemes. Herein, we rep...
متن کاملTunable organic photocatalysts for visible-light-driven hydrogen evolution.
Photocatalytic hydrogen production from water offers an abundant, clean fuel source, but it is challenging to produce photocatalysts that use the solar spectrum effectively. Many hydrogen-evolving photocatalysts are active in the ultraviolet range, but ultraviolet light accounts for only 3% of the energy available in the solar spectrum at ground level. Solid-state crystalline photocatalysts hav...
متن کاملEnergy transfer from quantum dots to metal-organic frameworks for enhanced light harvesting.
Because of their efficient energy-transport properties, porphyrin-based metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are attractive compounds for solar photochemistry applications. However, their absorption bands provide limited coverage in the visible spectral range for light-harvesting applications. We report here the functionalization of porphyrin-based MOFs with CdSe/ZnS core/shell quantum dots (QDs) fo...

A simple and effective strategy is developed to realize visible light-driven heterogeneous asymmetric catalysis. A chiral organic molecule, which only has very weak catalytic activity in asymmetric α-alkylation of aldehydes under visible light, is utilized as the ligand to coordinate with different types of metal ions, including Zn2+, Zr4+, and Ti4+, for construction of crystalline metal organi...
